- Speciality Aspects
Exceptional Skill (Crafting) - Smithing - While Felix has been trained in other forms of crafting, his personal preference is Blacksmithing. It is even the one that he's gotten the most training with, though he is also experienced with Forging.
Foe (Resources) - Boredom - Felix's number 1 hate, even greater than his hatred of his creations being defiled, is having nothing to do. This usually mostly occurs when he doesn't have materials on hand to make something with.
Gear (Resources) - Bottomless Bag of Production - A bottomless bag Felix made filled with materials, tools and equipment for Felix to make things with. May contain additional Bottomless Bags for containing things too large to fit through the Bottomless Bag of Production's hole, including some metal ones. Also contains Power Item Ovens, which food, such as muffins, can be cooked in. Contains no weapons, excusing tools that can be utilised/re-purposed as weapons (hammers, tonfa, etc).
Help (Resources) - Happy Customers - Felix has had so many customers, he doesn't know a quarter of them. However, a number of them purposefully purchase from Felix repeatedly, and remember him quite well. These customers come from all walks of life, from career criminals to members of the government, and pretty much everyone in between, including those merchants intending to resell and random members of the populace.
Inferior (Endurance) - Forged Tough - While Felix does have endurance, he doesn't actually know how to take a beating, and so wastes it outside of purely physical activities.
- Expert Advantages
Tool Time - +2 to making and fixing simple tools (things that serve a single purpose and don't need highly specific limitations. Limitations like the weight balance for swords. Does not include size limitations, such as making a lid fit a box, or make a home-made tool or sewing box fit together properly). Due to a lifetime of making things, Felix gains an advantage to making and repairing simple tools.
Engineer (Electical) - +2 to making and fixing electrical equipment - Felix gained a detailed knowledge of electronics when getting his Bachelors of Engineering.
Shard Crafting - +2 to making Shards - Felix might have learned how to make simple empty Shards bound to items by accident, but he has spent his time refining his knowledge, partially due to constantly making Bottomless Bag Shards to sell, and partially due to making small shards inside of boxes about the same size to replace his personal Fridge, Freezer, Oven (which Felix actually made temporary Shards in so to have complete control over the temperature), and more.
- Hero/Power Advantages
Craft Power Item (1 AP) - Allows Felix infuse the items he makes with mystical effects. This is believed to be a Manipulation skill. Recommended on the RP Chat and worked into the backstory.
Fateless Power Crafting (1 AP) - Allows Felix the ability to Craft Power Items without using up his Fate Points.
- Racial Power Advantages
Heroic:
// Herculean Strength
// Persistent Specialty: Crafting Instinct
Speciality:
Crafting Instinct(Craft)(P) - Specialty Aspect
Forged Tough(Endurance) - Specialty Aspect (Taken - 0.5 AP removed from Racial Package)
Appearance:
Felix doesn't look like the first thing a human thinks of when they hear the name "Dvegar", especially if they associate the name with Tolkein's Dwarves from The Lord of the Rings. First of all, Felix doesn't have a beard, and has no desire to grow one. Nor is he bald, instead having a head of red hair that he keeps short. He does, however, have the fairly bulky musculature one thinks of when they hear the word "Blacksmith", despite being the only blacksmith he knows who does, as most, instead, have more toned muscles than bulky due to the heavy repetition their chosen occupation or hobby requires. Felix is also taller than the average human would expect, being 5 Feet, 8 Inches, or slightly taller than an average human male. While he IS blind in his left eye, he still retains the eye in his head, and chooses not to hide it, as he sees no point to doing so.
Backstory:
Felix was raised an Orphan in an Orphanage where he was found. Unusually, he wasn't sent to the Orphanage from the hospital, nor was he found in a basket in front of the front door of anywhere. Instead, Felix was discovered in one of the recently emptied beds of the Orphanage one morning, much to the surprise of the caretakers.
From an early age, Felix loved producing things. He loved the to cook, and he loved needlework, the only two production skills that were taught in the Orphanage. However, he also hated how people tended to ignore what he often felt were 'works of art', ignoring the subtleties in the cooking he prepared, or leaving the ball bag he made in the mud while they played with the ball or balls that was inside of it. Due to this, he wanted to find something that he could make that was both useful AND that wasn't treated badly after it served it's purpose.
He ended up discovering Smithing, especially Blacksmithing, as a likely candidate for this, at a local Renaissance Fair the orphans were taken to. However, due to his age at the time, he wasn't able to even attempt to start learning. Instead, he was introduced to woodworking. While Felix did take to woodworking enthusiastically, the fact that he ended up working with so many tools he couldn't make actually made him want to learn Blacksmithing more and more.
At age 12, Felix was allowed to start learning blacksmithing. While he didn't start working on a forge directly for a while, he did learn numerous important things about how to manage a forge, how to treat different metals, and many other things that those who try to learn without any guidance would have difficulty learning. (AKA, things that I don't know about forging, and am not going to actually bother to learn). Felix was ecstatic at every moment of the learning process. He did everything he could to learn more, and even, eventually, managed to persuade the smiths to allow him to help out in their shop during school holidays to learn more.
While Felix did put the most energy he could into blacksmithing, he still had plenty of downtime outside of school and smithing. Downtime that he often used to keep up experience with his needlework, woodwork (which was now often mostly done through whittling pieces of wood), and even his cooking. It was through these that Felix was generating a small income, selling handmade trinkets to be sold at a nearby Farmer's Market, or to the annual Travelling Ren Faire for resale. It was also with these that Felix started experimenting with an odd feeling he started to get while blacksmithing. Not wanting to waste metal materials on this feeling, Felix tried to work out how to use it with more disposable items. This especially consisted of his waste needlework scraps, especially the scraps from the leather purses he often made. Due to this, Felix worked out how to Craft Power Items, starting with a Bottomless Bags. In fact, Felix uses his first Bottomless Bag as a wallet to this day... partially because it's not big enough to be used for anything else, only being a few centimetres wide.
This ended up making Felix quite a bit of money as time went on and he left the orphanage. He was able to afford to send himself through College to get a Bachelors of Engineering and a nice place for himself, complete with an area to practice and attempt to master forging and smithing. He even ensured that he lodged his taxes correctly and honestly. Shortly after the opening of the (school we all go to, I still don't actually remember the name), Felix was approached by the Government to go there. They hadn't properly approached him earlier due to him not, actually, breaking any laws, despite the fact that a number of groups purchased his wares, most of which purchasing his Bottomless Bags. They had, apparently, checked to see if he was secretly making weapons or purposefully dealing with criminal organisations, but had the results had turned up negative, so they left him alone until they had something to offer or request from him. This is also the source that Felix learned that he was, apparently, a Dvegar, from, as the thought that he wasn't human had never really crossed his mind before.
