Robin hears quiet crunching as she steps forwards, seems there’s some old glass on the floor. Judging by the sheer quality of lighting in this place, that was one of the lights that once upon a time lit up happy parties, but now? Robin just feels an unnatural chill settle on her, a nearly unnoticeable breeze sweeping through the room causing a few papers to flutter across the ground. Ever so faintly Robin thinks she hears...is that...a child laughing? A light suddenly sparks and shorts out, the fluorescent bulb bursting into a shower of glass, ruining any hopes of telling whatever that was as it already seems to have stopped.
(Robin, make a Will Power roll versus a DC of 0, and Felix, I'll give you the crafting...but it will take 1 hour. It's not actually even a "Power Item"...it's just a magical version fo a mundane item, in this case a flashlight. We'll use BackerPDF crafting rules over Strands of Fate. In this case, the base DC is 2, plus other things. This requires at least two steps. First is Cost, and second is Craft. Now...for the sake of ease, we'll ditch the Cost this time. To create an Aspect, you have 2+3. To create a permanent aspect...2+5. As such? You can have succeeded at making it if you want it to provide LET THERE BE LIGHT. Which means, you spend a Fate Point to negate any Darkness based advantages. Now, if you're willing to spend a fate point NOW...you can make it NEVER IN THE DARK(P), which means you will NOT suffer darkness based disadvantages. Or at least, if you were using Manipulate. But, since you use Craft by default, and your Craft is 1 higher than your Manipulate (+4 and +3 respectively), you automatically get NEVER IN THE DARK with no Fate Points required, and for future rolls you can do a Manipulate roll to lower the DC required by 1. Essentially, you can separate the rolls into first a Manipulate then Craft and in return have the DC to make be lower by 1 for each, however, it takes one hour….per roll done)

Niko readies her own flashlight and turns it on, following Robin in. "Once we've figured out if this place is safe or not, we're gonna need to do some major cleaning, huh..." she comments, but picks up the pace when she hears that lightbulb popping up ahead.

A shiver runs down Robin's spine as she approaches the odd source... a kiddo went down here to play perhaps ? That child certainly must have some problems. However, as she was to step forward, idly pushing glass out of her way with her foot, the bulb bursts, ending with a yelp of Robin, before she looks up in a bout of mild annoyance "Hey I almost found something! I think. Pretty sure, but then not really... Drat!" ···

Alastor sticks close to Niko, apparently forgetting a flashlight of his own. Making sure to keep pace when the light bulb pops. "Seems like someone forgot that this place is old and that the lights probably don't work."

(Mitch, on Skype, gave me permission to, THIS ONE TIME, skip the "hour" to create the lamp, at the cost of a Fate Point. Which I will take, since I doubt I could get Felix could persuade the other characters to sit in this room while he makes/activates the box-lamp.)
Felix, meanwhile, is hit by a small part of the exploding fluorescent bulb while he's working on turning his metal box into a magical lamp, genie not included. The glass hitting him, as well as the sudden decrease in light, both manage to annoy Felix. This annoyance translated into creating the box lamp very quickly. So quickly that Felix accidentally blinded himself by looking directly into the new light source as he activated it.
Swearing, Felix turns away from the light with his eyes scrunched up. "Made a light. Just need to get my vision back."

The sounds of several footsteps echoes quietly down a hallway left from the room, though oddly the cold breeze seems to start picking up from a hallway off to the right. Behind the party, the front door suddenly slams shut, kicking up a small cloud of dust and dirt as it rattles its frame before soon it’s quiet once more. The room seems to be getting colder and colder...far faster than just a little breeze from inside a building should cause.
(Felix, you're good to go on skipping the crafting time, and congratulations on your new light up box. Robin, for making such a difficult check you take no mental stress.)

Niko levels her handgun and flashlight ahead. "Well, that's a damn sure sign this is more than just an abandoned pizza parlor. Doors don't slam shut like that on their own." She hands the flashlight off to someone else as she takes out the Easton journal. "There's gotta be somethin' here. You don't have a whole clan of hunters completely miss running into what I think is a poltergeist..." She gestures for whomever takes the flashlight to give her some light as she reads.
(Niko checks the family journal to see what her ancestors have written about haunted locales!)

Felix, still blinded by having his box of light turn on earlier than expected, doesn't notice the door shut, the cold wind, or the room's temperature decreasing. He's too busy rubbing his eyes, and trying to blink sight back into them, grumbling profanities to himself as he does so.

Robin shivers, crossing her arms and rubbing them with her hands "Got cold here quickly... wanna tell me the AC is also broken ?" She glances between both the right and left, her head jerking back as the door slams shut "Well... Not bad so far... Though more confusing rather than unsettling... let's see if there's more... left or right..." Robin says to herself as she ponders, deciding to approach the hallway she heard steps from first...

Alastor quickly turns as he hears the door slam, and then turns to the hallway when he hears the footsteps. "Seems we aren't alone here. Well this may be more interesting than I thought it would be."
