Personality: She comes across to most people (who talk to her) as mean, and distant, not really seeming to care about anything in particular. In group projects, she participates, but doesn't socialize. She adores the company of animals though, and approaches every dog she encounters in the streets, though the owners usually don't let her get close.
For people that know her, she has a wry sense of humor, enjoys chattering about nature and animals. It takes her a long while to warm up to people, unless they were to mention RPG's or occult books, then she'd latch on very quickly.
She’s never had sex yet, but she is into both girls and boys, and everything in between.
Backstory: That which is supernatural, might to some be natural, while to others, it may be unnatural.
On the island of Okinawa, a woman of a native family met a man in her college years, possessed of unnatural beauty. Smitten by him, they shared two years of passion together until he vanished one day, without a trace, but leaving behind their infant daughter, Mitsui.
Mitsui grew up to share the looks of her father, once a thing that attracted her mother now repulsed her whenever she looked upon her child, taking care of her basic needs to keep her alive, but never showing any concern for the girl’s happiness.
When she started school, Mitsui found that most of the children found her unnerving to look upon, finding her look to be unnatural. She spent her first weeks of kindergarten sitting alone in the corner, until one of the children came to her. She did not care about Mitsui’s strange looks, she cared that this girl looked sad and alone. This girl’s name was Kurata, and she helped introduce Mitsui to new friends, who began to see less and less the look of Mitsui’s face, and started to see her personality. To them, her looks became a natural part of their lives.
But over time, these friends would come apart. Some would leave with their military families back to the mainland, some left to Japan looking for jobs. By the beginning of high school, the only two left in the circle were Mitsui and Kurata. Not long after, the pair would come under futher strain, as Kurata’s father perished in an accident, leaving a grief stricken mother, with Kurata the only one who could take care of her. Mitsui did what she could for her friend, but Kurata’s bright smile faded over time as she turned to recreations like smoking and drinking. Until one night, when Kurata under influence of drink would tell her friend: “I always thought you looked unnatural.”
This broke them apart… not at first, but over time. Until by Senior year, Mitsui had no friends to speak of.
Then she met her new home room teacher… a strange fellow, who the classmates chattered about nearly as much as their unnatural looking classmate. He had bad eyesight, plain as day by the large frames he wore, and rumors circulated about how some teachers never saw him eating. But for the first time, when he looked upon her, Mitsui saw how he didn’t react to her strange looks. She would talk to him after class, and he would listen to her, and slowly an idea formed in his head. He encouraged her to go to a certain college… a college he himself attended in his youth. And so she would go on to attend this college, after her graduation.
