Facility:
‘Private Library’: Basically, her specific apartment has a walk in closet. She keeps all her clothes in dressers instead, and instead keeps several book shelves, a small end table, and a beanbag in there, making her own little library for when she doesn’t want to leave her room. She finds it very soothing. Gains +1 to rolls to heal from mental consequences from a mundane source, as it gives her peace that makes it just a bit easier to recover.
Personality:
Isabelle is an odd figure. Her experiences with ghosts mean she can be distant, and communication isn’t rushed. At the same time, strange behavior rarely phases her, and her experience with ghosts means she’s good with the mentally ill and quirky. She also tends to be very accepting, and unprejudiced.
She tends to be selective about what people she hangs around, and can be rather shy around the living, though she can be quite talkative towards the dead. She’s bookish, tending towards plenty of fantasy books (and sci-fi to a lesser extent), though she occasionally does other hobbies, such as tabletop gaming, or anything aside from writing (which she’s horrible at), that involves fantasy or escapism… which as some people have pointed out, is somewhat ironic for a Vampyr Mage with Demonic Blood.
While not a demon herself, she has embraced a good deal of Yomian culture. Trust is paramount, even sacred, to her, and she tends to take needless deception hard. She also believes in pursuing your own values and interests, so long as they’re ethical.
Background:
Isabelle’s mother is the daughter of the ‘Canaanite’ demoness Astarte and a human mage, having fallen in love while the mage was repaying a modest favor. Her father was just a mundane, who managed to stumble onto the world of the supernatural after a young therianthrope accidently transformed in front of him. The Death Seer thing was entirely new to Isabelle, as was her being a Vampyr, with any record of either in her family history being long lost.
Her personality was fairly normal when born. Unfortunately, with no Death Seer in the immediate area, a young Isabelle, who wore blue contacts to disguise her red eyes from a young age, befriended a ghost in the school yard. While this was seen as normal early on, her overeagerness to talk to her ‘imaginary friend’, her over fascination with ghosts, her ‘implant’ fangs, and her odd dietary needs drew teasing from her classmates. This led to her spending more time with ghosts, and less time around humans, which made things worse in terms of her ability to deal with others. She also tended to involve herself more in the affairs of Yomi, considering her family understood her better than her peers. Not to mention her work as a Death Seer was useful even to Yomi, considering that even so long after Balor’s schemes were thwarted, they still had relatively few of them, making her feel a bit more worthwhile.
In high school, she ended up making friends with the Lemurian swim team captain, Jennifer Summers, mostly due to the fact both of them had to endure abuse from different sources, though it was more the community with Jennifer, and more the mundane world for Isabelle. After graduating, both moved onto college in their home town, with Isabelle planning to learn psychology.
