The construction site is easy to find, as it's the one that's filled with people. Looks like there was going to be an attempt to make dorms for people moving into the college. Numerous figures are wandering around, talking with on-duty cops, albeit relaxed ones. There are a few injured civilians, and some construction workers lounging around waiting for a chance to finally get back to work.
Caution tape fills the area, as anyone who notices can tell the signs of an active investigation, besides the police presence. Forklifts, construction uprights, and other materials needed for forming the base of a building and more fill the area, along with a large concrete mixture. A sewer pipe is visible, though fortunately without any water flowing through it yet. All in all, this area is filled with THE CHAOS OF CONSTRUCTION.
One thing stands out. A few of the construction workers are purple, with vaguely neanderthal like features. They look much like the cavemen from those old commercials. Looks like Trolls are getting into more respectable careers.

Investigation. Goodie. Well there goes the theory of just walking up and finding them. Then again, it might just happen. Xue Fang would just have to ask a few questions to the right people. Or something. Not exactly the detective, she begins making her way and savoring the Chaos to help her own investigation, trying to find someone that would be most ideal to ask her questions of. Preferably someone that wouldn't be too gung ho on throwing her out as well.

It looked fairly peaceful right now; honestly, she was surprised these... well, she wasn't quite sure what the big purple guys were supposed to be. Orcs? Ogres? Jabberwockies? Whatever. Nikki was still half certain that all the crap she'd heard about supernatural creatures on TV and video games was untrue, so purple orcs could be a thing.
Nikki looked towards Xue "We're probably safe for now; whatever people were causing trouble would have to be brain dead to come back with all the cops here." And if they were somehow dumb enough to pick a fight; well, there were enough cops here that the enemy would probably be filled with lead before either of them could even get into melee range.

(Okay, not really that much to add, but if you're just looking around, I'm going to request Perception or Reasoning rolls, to see if you can find a clue or more specific person to talk to. Remember, you can spend Fate Points, or take a Compel to have something bad happen, or a penalty on the roll.)

"I don't know." Xue Fang responds. She takes a look around patiently. "I can never be certain with these things." Things never were this easy. Money passed easy enough in these places. Problems even more so.
Perception (base 1): DleYAbV8 -2 Requesting a Compel for: Wuxia Plot Device.
(If I'm reading it right, that's a... total of -3)···

Nikki looked around "Well in that case, we should be cautious." Nikki explained. She made a note not only to look for a good person to talk to, but also to get a good feel for the area, in case things turned violent.
Rolling Reasoning- Base 4 - To figure out who here is the best person to talk to. 2wo1bmsz
Also rolling Perception for an Area Assessment, In Case Things Turn Ugly - Invoking Nikki's Tactical Genius Persistent Specialty for a +2 (If I have that right)

As Xue Fang looks around...she can't see anything important. It's just...well, filled with a bunch of people. Um...maybe she should have paid more attention to how to properly and discreetly buy something? Or bribe someone. Hm...not QUITE enough cash to just buy the construction site...
Meanwhile, unbenownst to Xue, from a nearby rooftop, a figure in a simple straw hat watches. Having found what he needed, he turns away, and leaps away. As he does so, the straw hat flies off his head, and into the wind...
Nikki, meanwhile, can easily tell who the best person to talk to is. You look for either someone who is in command, but not yet busy, and see if they accept pulling rank or references to the Community, or you find someone who was injured, and promise to get the guy who did this. Let's see...this one Detective over there looks like he has a good eye for things. The other one...well, there's a purple-skinned guy who is nursing a broken leg. Wait, no...not broken. There appears to be an imprint on the leg, about the size of a nearby 'small' girder. He's...he apepars to be moving his toes and making sure the leg is okay. Oh...oh my.

Usually it was a bit simpler than this. Then again, she usually didn't try and seek them out or investigate. Perhaps it would be a useful skill to pick up. Otherwise throwing money at the wall is about as useful as it sounds. Xue Fang didn't hear any gun shots. Or feel the need to dodge or anything. So whatever is going on must have already happened or hasn't quite happened yet. Hm. Well, perhaps Nikki is having better luck on her end. "Hn. I don't see anything peculiar at the moment..."

Nikki had spent several weeks in excruciating pain recently, courtesy of the same crazy piece of fruit that stole her manhood, so she was feeling a bit more sympathetic to it. Though she tried to hide it, she still cringed slightly.
She shook her head "Damn, wish we had that demon doc with us." She said, before looking at the troll that was in pain.
Still, she approached the troll "Nikki, Nikki Howell. I've heard there's been some trouble around here."

The troll laughs at Nikki. It's not a cruel laugh, but it is a laugh at the amount of understatement she's used. "A little trouble? Some crazy ninja dude came in, stole a Construction Upright, and left! Not to mention my leg'll be out for a day or two, at least. Just glad I heal faster then you humans..."
He looks over at Xue, and raises an eyebrow. "Wassup with the distracted chick?"

Xue snaps out of her stupor a bit. Huh? Crazy Ninja? She looks around to try and find Nikki and the ah... troll.. person... thing. She makes her way over and gives a bow, "Hm? My apologies, you said something about a crazy ninja?"

The troll nods. "Yeah. A ninja. Full on black suit, like wearing pajamas to work, or one of them stagehands in old Kabuki plays. Muttering crazed things about he Iron Dragon, True Fang, stuff like that. I think he was on drugs. Or she, couldn't really tell. Weeeird."

Nikki was surprised the ninja was dressed up like a stereotypical ninja. Because running around in an all-black ninja suit sounded rather conspicuous, even if it was cool. She looked towards Xue with a bit of disbelief, as if asking her to tell her these were just the incompetent thugs, who thought that just because they worked for who they did meant they were something special.
Nikki nodded "Okay, so I think I've got it." Nikki told him "We're dealing with a destructive idiot that doesn't realize that running around in broad daylight in a frickin' ninja suit is incredibly conspicuous."
She shrugged "So why do you think a bunch of ninja would even want a construction upright, except maybe to sell it?" she asked him "Anyways, how did they fight? We're probably going to kick their asses later, so it'd be useful to know."

The troll shrugs. "They fought like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! One of them dropped a GIRDER on my leg." He points. "They used exploding shurikans, katanas that magically slice thorugh everything...the works. So...they were the ninjiest ninja that ever ninjed."
Looks like either he wasn't paying attention, or he was just shocked by the ninja-ness. It's gonna take careful questioning, reasoning, and a lot of Empathy to get through.
(Okay, it'll take either VERY good Roleplay, or some decent rolls to get helpful stuff. And even decent rolls, you have to be careful with the questions you ask.)

Xue Fang's features turn more into a scowl as she listens. Wearing black was so ... tacky... there were other ways. Easier ways to steal things. There was a difference between... thugs and ninja. Hmph. Ninja and Shinobi, she supposed. Gah. Sounds like someone at least had the right firepower. "So..." She begins. "So. These guys wrecked your place. Hurt you guys, and stole a giant robot while shouting that ..." There's a moment of a slight tremor going through her as she simmers her anger down a bit, "True Fang... bit hm?"
