So apparently the 'ninjas' at least were well-equipped, and using shuriken took a lot more skill than using a gun. So she should at least not underestimate these guys. Unfortunately, the rest revealed nothing. She was still interested in how a girder was dropped on his leg "So how did that work? Psychic powers? Brute strength? Just damaging a piece of equipment holding it into the air?" It was at least important to know how powerful what they were dealing with was as well.
"Anyways, was anything dropped or left behind? Was there anyone else who might have gotten a better look at what was happening?" Nikki asked. He was shocked, and pain probably made it difficult for him to remember well. But this was a construction site; there had to be more than one person here.
She decided, after that, that he also might not be focused "Now calm down, and think for a moment. Focus on the sound of my voice. Now, we're going to find the bastards who did this, and punish them before they can pull something else. Now, if we were the police, if we were investigating on behalf of the community, what do you think would be useful for us to know?"

He turns to Xue Fang, and nods. "Pretty much."
And raises an eyebrow to Nikki. "Look, toots..." His manner is remarkably...casual, for someone who had a girder dropped on his leg. "You don't need to do the 'focus on the sound of my voice' crud. I'm a TROLL. We ain't known for letting little things like messed up limbs get to us. Heck, my Talent is regeneration. And, I suppose the pilot of the Upright could...but he's currently unconscious. Guys knocked him out when they stole the upright. Which is what caused the girder thing. It was carrying the girder. I, meanwhile, was making sure the girder got in place right. And...wait. You're with the Community?"
His face looks shocked, as if she's said some magic words.

Though with all the finesse of a pack of circus monkies - these 'ninjas' accomplished their mission. So tacky. Hnh. Alright now focus Xue. "Not me. They hurt someone close to me. I just want to catch them."

Nikki cringed when she was called toots. That was... just annoying, particularly given her... relatively unique circumstances. It also seemed that the troll had misunderstood what she'd said.
"I said 'if were were'." Nikki mentioned. She'd be told about the community by the metabolist who healed her, so she at least had the gist of what it was "If it means anything to ya, we still from the Meta Club at the college. We're investigating it because apparently, they have a grudge against Xue."

The troll shurgs. "Well, I'd love to be of help, but I'm just not really sure how. I ain't a cop, and I don't work WITH the cops. So I can't just magically imagine what questions you'd want to know. It was a ninja. It stole an upright. It ran off and nobody can find the dang thing. That's all I got."

Hnngh. If it were just easier to find them. Xue Fang grit her teeth at the moment and tried not to think of the situation as... well... as a massive colossal waste of time. They were somewhere in the city. With a big honking robot. So they have a massive weapon/thing. Great. Most of the words flew through Xue's ears as she was internally wrestling with what to do next. "Hm? Oh.. I don't work with cops either if I can help it. Too many questions."

Nikki thought for a bit. She likely wasn't going to get a lot of useful information from the troll, so it might be better to try to find physical evidence "Well, can you tell me the exact paths they were moving in, or at least where they were standing when they did something more interesting than just moving? Like if he was standing up there when he first attack..." Nikki mentioned, pointing at a lower part of the building. "... then moved over there to cut something..." Nikki finished, her finger now pointing towards a currently empty patch of dirt. Hopefully, if she got some information, she could figure out how to use it.

And...he is quickly able to, with Nikki's help, set up a trail, correcting her reasoning, and granting her an aid to things. Furthermore...He's able to explain, in detail, which way the upright went, which may provide help in figuring out how an Upright could disappear. The only problem is, finding an Upright is likely to be extremely dangerous, and require help...
(Thanks to your skill, you now have a new Situation Aspect. It's not a boost, it's a full-aspect, so you can use it more then once! Furthermore, you have one free tag!)

Xue Fang listens intently as she tries to piece things together. It doesn't work too well. Though she gets enough information to put things together. The cyberninja puts her hands in her pockets and seems... content with the knowledge. "That... certainly helps narrow things down." She says once its all done."Do you want to get going, or do you think you can figure out more?" Xue Fang looks around the construction yard a bit dubiously. Possible. There could be more information. Though at least now there's a bit of a lead. She would have to call on some hands to search the city, but it could be done.

Now that she had a good mental map of the action, it was time to search. Maybe they left something behind "Thanks for you help; we'll make sure to give em' a good kick in the pants for you." she told him.
She decided it would be best to take a look, and decided to follow the trail looking for anything that might have been left behind based on that account. That could help give them further assistance.

Xue is easily able to find a trail, and can see signs that the police followed it as well. It leads to a parking garage relatively close by, which is...empty. There's no sign of anyone here, and Nikki doesn't see a secret passageway or anything...unless there's something she's missing?
(Still part of this thread. However, the Location Aspects have shifted. You are now in an empty parking garage, large-scale. Aspects are Big Enough for an Upright, and Empty and full of Shadows.)

The clues were easy enough to follow. Perhaps too much so. With a kinder moment Xue Fang slips out her wallet and gives $200 to the troll for his... 'troubles'. She thanks him, bowing and pocketing her wallet once again and going to follow the supersleuth.
Hm. Well then. This seems like a good time to call in for some... extra help. If the police searched here... then it could be a trap. Or the right place. Either way, it would be well enough to bring in some extra help and step back from the situation. Get a good perspective. Maybe some back up for when they actually find things. Xue Fang slips out her phone and makes a quick phone call, all the while following Nikki. Her end of it is spoken in Chinese. <"Good afternoon. We have a koi fish outside its pond. It seems to have swallowed something too big for its mouth."> She gets a bit of a smile on her face with a slight laugh to follow, <"Oh yes. That would be lovely."> As the conversation continues, Xue Fang recants the information over the thieves. Their methods, their movements, and where they are likely to be. <"If you could find the koi for me, I would greatly appreciate it. What it had swallowed did not belong to me."> There is a pause and she smiles, <"Thank you, have a wonderful day."> And -click-.
She takes a deep breath. "Sorry about that, had to make a quick call." She looks to Nikki, "I think it may be a good time for us to get going. I still have to show you my place for the assignment." The shadows were... a bit too ominous at the moment. This place.. didn't quite feel right. "We can talk more once we are... away from this place." She says and looks a bit more .. uncertain about what this building may really hold for the time being.

"I don't like this." Nikki told her, as her eyes briefly looked around.
"This place is... too public, empty or not. Even then, an upright would seem out of place here. No way whoever's after you's just going to hide a stolen upright in a parking garage." Nikki told Xue "I'm not sure why you called, but if it's related to this and whatever or whoever you need's on the way, it might be a good idea to kill some time and check your place first. This just reeks of a trap, and I'd rather go into this with whatever advantages we can get."

Xue Fang smiles a bit back to Nikki, "I agree." She says, and begins to head out. Nikki did just repeat what Xue said, but maybe she just needed a moment. Then again, she was on the phone. One way or another it was time to skip the place for the time being. Despite leaving, Xue Fang still feels the fight coming. It would certainly be an interesting one. Making sure Nikki is following, Xue Fang delightfully heads on out of this trapped(tm) place and over to her facility.

Nikki was glad that Xue wasn't about to go head first into what she believed to be a trap, particularly since she seemed to be a fighter by nature. She followed Xue to her dojo, a bit curious to what her facility was like.
