Biography: Mio was born in the Philippines, the 'younger' of a pair of twins. Her brother, Martin, and her grew up constantly bickering despite similar interests and hobbies. Despite protests from her parents, who had a rather traditional view on what a young lady should be doing with her time, Mio grew up gaming with her brother on their old Super Famicom and Packard Bell computer. Despite their arguments and quarreling that would often arise over the games, the two seemed to be getting close in a way, so their parents allowed her to focus on gaming while playing referee to their quarreling. Mio grew up a regular at LAN cafes and gaming circles, despite a small reputation of being a bit of a sore loser due to a rather quick trigger into anger or rather showy displays of happiness. When she was thirteen, her family migrated from the Philippines to the United States, her father able to procure a job and passage for the family.
They enrolled in school in America and things went well outside of one problem that seemed to be amplified in this new area. Any time that Mio made a friend, it seemed to be through her brother, or the person showed more interest in spending time with him than with her. If she was ever invited somewhere, it was an invitation to "Martin and Mio," or "the Cueva twins," whereas Martin seemed to have no issue finding friends that would hang around him alone. This started to build within Mio, which led to her starting to resent her brother and her situation.
Mio's life continued rather uneventfully for the next few years, reaching a shaking point at a LAN party. She, her brother, and a few others were playing a late night game of Civilization 5. Her team was behind for a majority of the game, but was able to keep in enough stride to avoid being steamrolled. Martin, however, was first to discover The Manhattan Project and promptly nuked his sister's capital. Mio was livid. She stood from the table, yelling at Martin in a fury that seemed to distort everything about her. Her hair started clumping into tendrils, her face twisted in rage, nose flattening and pupils elongating into slits. She yelled at the group for a moment before storming off, herself unaware of the changes due to her focus on her anger until a few moments later.
Mio had awakened as a gorgon, the first in her family. It was something that alarmed her parents and her brother as well. She started to be treated more isolate, that was a bit sweet in its bitterness. Finally, after highschool, her family encouraged her to try for a separate school than her brother, to which she gladly pursued.
Description: Mio is far from the tallest girl, standing only at a meager 5'1". Her build is very feminine, taking after her well endowed mother with rather ample chest and hips, to which she offer has some self consciousness. This is accented by her more sedintary lifestyle leading to a bit of doughiness. Her jet black hair hangs down to her middle back, clumped together into long tendrils since her awakening. Her face round and a bit childish, featuring a small, short nose and full lips. Her face is very expressive, twisting quite a bit in anger, shock, or happiness which has been exceedingly amplified by her nature.
