The archery club is filled with people, mostly women. Apparently, Japanese sensabilities have influenced it, despite the area being mostly American. in fact, despite the populace being mostly American. There are a few men, including one orange-haired guy who walks off, muttering something about things that he has to cook. There's a purple haired girl with him, as they walk out of the area. One of the other girls, cleaning up her equipment, smiles brightly as she waves to someone. "Thanks Kaede. The tips will help great."
She's beautiful. Great skin, with a few freckles, red hair, skin tone is just between overly tan albine. Her hair is a dark red, almost like that of a comic character, her eyes a shining green. She hoists her equipment with one hand, dressed in a simple blouse and designer jeans, along with some very nice sneakers.
She breathes in happily, glad to spend time with her friends. Yup, Jessica Kara is having a good day.
Delphi arrives at the Archery Club. She looks around and asks the help of the first person she sees. "Uh, hi. This is the archery club, right? I'm here for two things, one, I would love to join. Two, an idiot internet blog reporter or something is about to come here, and be obnoxious because he's ignorant and more than happy to use his ignorance as a weapon against anyone he sees as strange. If the idiot hasn't arrived already."
As Delphi looks for someoen to talk to, the freckled woman walks over to her. She smiles at the dryad, and extends a hand. "A reporter? Well, even if he is a bit obnoxious...I don't see why I'd worry about him. I mean, we've not got anything to hide. And, about the only thing strange going here is that I'm adopted. And that's a matter of public record. Oh, we got a few Talents here, but nothing major. They're graduating, anyway. Let's see...I think she has mana sight, and he has the power to summon any weapon that he owns, as long as he puts a rune on it. So..his bow. But I'd be happy to let you join. Um..."
She looks over the glowing green eyes, and the branches. "You don't have a...'control wood' talent, do you?"
"Yeah, I do. But only for the wood growing out of me, while it's growing out of me. You use modern arrows and compund bows here, though, don't you? Neither of them use wood, anyway, so that shouldn't matter. I mostly use it to make more arrows when I get low and don't want to stop shooting." Delphi replied to the question, before continuing, "Also you're underestimating the guy's obnoxiousness AND ignorance. He abused one girl earlier because he decided that her boss is a monster. And now he's been told that Dryads are Tree Powered Seductresses, and is planning on coming here to abuse another. I seriously doubt that we'll get him to understand that Dryad's are Talent Disabled people. Or get him to accept that there's a difference between an Oread like myself, and Dryads.
Jessica is about to respond...when she sees Kate, and promptly squeals. "Aw, she's so CUTE!" She bends down to look over at Kate, and looks at her twintails. "You have twintails, that's so adorable. I heard rumors about a cute kid in the Meta Club, but...And you even know the Japanese name? Yeah, we follow Kyudo tradition, though we use Ceramic "
She smiles up at Delphi. "Sure, you're welcome to come, though you may have to get some verifications before you can enter tournaments, and register your abilities. But...what do you think I should do? I take it you have a plan? Honestly, I'm tempted to call my folks. NOthing quite like getting a fire and brimstone hellfire speech from them. My mom's a Deacon."
"If you think that they'd be able to shout down a person so cock sure of himself that he might as well be a human avatar of blind arrogance, call them. I didn't actually have a plan, I just hoped to get here first and try to give you some warning and hopefully, support." Delphi replied to Jessica, before pausing for a moment. "Oh, yeah, I think that the leaders of the Meta Club also want to get someone from here to join. Not sure who, though. I ended up running off before getting a full list, and don't remember everyone who was mentioned. Annoyingly, the blogger does have a list, given to him and two other, decent and properly trained, reporters wandering around by the school, of all things."
Jessica nods, and listens. "So...my choices are to leave, and let him do...whatever, to anyone who's left? Or, I stay, distract him, and hopefully make sure that nobody else gets hurt." She frowns, her face hard. "I'll stay. I can't let him hurt the people I care about. Once they're all gone...well, then I can get involved.
She smirks, and leans back. "Besides, I'm a Baptist. Human avatars of blind arrogance are something I deal with every Sunday."
Jessica pats Kate on the head. "Aw...um, apparently? An evil reporter is coming, and I'm going to stop him! Because, well...it's the right thing to do."
As she says that...the archery club clears out, and a figure begins to appproach. Torben Belenos is approaching. He...seems quite winded, actually. As he walks towards the group...he pauses, bending down, to catch his breath. Did...did he walk all the way here?
And then he goes back to strutting forwards, intent, his tablet in his hand.
Alastor arrives at the Club, knocking on the doorframe as he enters. "Hello? I'm new here and was just wandering around. I thought that this might be a good place to stop and get my bearings." He has his mask on and is dressed in his usual outfit complete with his aviator jacket.

Jessica smiles politely to the newcomer, and nods. "Well, I'm always happy to meet someone new. I'm Jessica, and this is Katelyn. Anyway, I'd love to talk, but...there's something I have to do."
She walks forwards, and soon meets fact to face with Torben. He stands, up, and glares at her. His eyes are hard, ready to meet his opponent.
The reporter speaks first. "Hello...are you with the archery club?"
Jessica smiles brightly, her eyes kind, and extends a hand. "Yes I am. I'm Jessica. It's a pleasure to meet you."
He...blinks, and steps back. "Um...I'm not here for small talk!" He regains his bearings, adjusting his collar. "Now...is it true you employ dryads and psychics in the Archery club?"
She nods. "Yup! Two of our founding members are minor Talents, and we just recently recruited Delphi!"
He pauses..."Wait, what?"
"Yeah! We're always open to new people!"
He smiles. "Aha! So you admit some of your people have powers like control over wood, or telekinessi!"
She cocks her head to the side, confused. "No...I mean, sure, Delphi can apparently control wood...but that's why she uses ceramic arrows. And neither of our Talents can use telekinesis. One can summon his bow, and the other is just a minor empath."
He steps forwards. "But you still employ people who could use their powers to cheat, and have an unfair disadvantage."
She blinks, confused. "NO? I just said that neither could influence the tournament. We have ceramic arrows. And, besides...all their powers are fully registered, and if the judges thought it could let them cheat, we just wouldn't let them be in any tournaments."
Torben pauses. "Wait...what?"
Jessica nods. "Yeah. Before every tournament, we submit a list of applicants, INCLUDING powered people. Neither of our Talents do tournies. They're tutors."
Torben interrupts. "TEACHING TALENTS!"
She blinks again. "You...can't teach a Talent. I asked."
"You..can't learn psychic stuff?"
"Oh, no! You can learn some stuff...but a Talent like Telekinesis is impossible to teach. Some sort of genetic stuff, I don't really understand it."
He frowns. Her sheer...kindness has wrong-footed him. "You're...you're cheating someone. Or, you're with the dryads on their dark plans. I will prove it, and I will publish an article exposing you. THIS IS NOT THE LAST YOU'LL SEE OF ME!"
She smiles brightly. "That...wouldn't be wise. If you publish an article that isn't true...Dad would get mad."
He laughs. "And who is your dad?"
"Dr. Kara, Attorney at Law. Specialist in Slander and Libel."
Torben blinks. "Isn't he black?"
Jessica sighs. "I'm. Adopted."
Torben looks around awkwardly at that. He...kinda forgot what he was going to say. "So...um...I'm gonna...leave now?"
She waves. "See you at the next tourney!"
And, with that, he leaves, and she walks up to Katelyn and Alastor. "So, that's done. How about we both go and meet Kate's friends!"
(Mission accomplished. Delphi and Katelyn gain 5EXP each!)
