Loretta smiles, and just gestures to the puddle. "Oh, don't worry. We have the vans already. The big deal is getting the vans to the place they need to go. See, the vans are in the Seraph Shard...so we have to use a bit of interdimensional travel. So, I need you all to step into the puddle. Then, I can take you to the Seraph Shard, and then we can work getting the vans back to Earth. As I said, I can't teleport a van, so we'll be using a human-style teleporter. And, since this is a 'cultural' trip, it lets you see what human-style teleportation and Medium-travel is both like! Plus, those of you who haven't been to other shards get to have a nice bit of fun! The Seraph shard is absolutely beautiful. It's heavily influenced by Nirvana."
She points. "So, just step there, and I can turn it into a portal."
Glenn is back on her feet, snuggled by Casey, whom she pats on the head a few times "Not a...problem. But I think we have a trip to attend to. We shouldn't hold the others up now right ? Besides, there's a nice trip ahead of us, how exciting!" Glenn says, quietly directing (Or atleast trying to) Casey and herself into the puddle "I think I have one question though. You said we could transport the vehicles outside of there, but... what then ? Do we gotta drive them to their destination ?" She wonders.
Cee nods. "That's the plan. The vehicles are...quite large, which is the issue. That said, it will allow you a good chance to meet with the team. We have a nice group of people set up, and it should be a simple road trip. Glenn, are you Earth-Raised, or Shard-Raised?"
Cee, meanwhile, steps in the puddle, getting a bit of a case of wet shoes. "...Not the most convenient transport method...but it could be worse."
"Ms. Loretta, I shouldn't worry about waterlogging my planner, should I?" Alexis asks. Despite her reservations, the medusa is in lockstep behind Cee, waiting to see what comes next: will they be going in one by one, or...?
Loretta smiles. "Don't worry. When I turn it into a portal, the water ceases to have the properties of water, for as long as it is a portal. At most, you get your feet wet. Now, I'll set things up, so that you can head on in. Each of you, when ready, can enter the portal. I can keep it open as long as you need it. Though, portals like this are a bit...disconcerting. Easier when they're horizontal."
She steps inside, and concentrates...and then Alexis feels like she is dropping, and then, for no time at all, she feels like she is in zero gravity. And then, she feels like she FLIPS, and she's on the other side, gravity having reversed itself. That's...wow. That's NOT a fun feeling. Kinda like being flipped over end from end.
And then, she is in a garden. It...looks almost like the Garden of Eden, only with no giant angel with a flaming sword. Androgynous Seraphim are busy doing whatever they can, and Alexis finds herself standing on the shore of a beautiful little pond, complete with confused ducks. One ducks its head into the water, and anyone who hasn't yet gone through can see a VERY confused duck for a brief moment.
Fields of golden wheat are off to the right of Alexis, being harvested by Seraphim dressed as farmers. Off to the left, is an apple field, and in front...is an incongrously modern area. A series of vans are being loaded up with strange equipment she cannot identify, and one is covered by a large tarp. It appears some sort of vehicle is being transported, though it's still boxed up. The other one is filled with, well...equipment. Alexis can't identify it. And, between the vans, is an extremely complicated looking gadget, complete with Tesla coils. Looks like a generator, a MASSIVE one. The area is marked off, specifically where to enter and not enter...and, she can see a few people just hanging around. One is an androgynous looking figure in military wear, with jet black hair, tan skin, and covered in scars. He's got an assault rifle in hand, as he helps move the heavy load.
Another is a Native American, or maybe Asian, woman. She's dressed in aviator goggles, wearing comfortable clothes, some nice boots, and a scarf to keep her neck warm. She's talking with a third woman, dressed in a red shirt, a nice fedora, sunglasses, white pants, and some VERY comfy looking sneakers. It normally wouldn't stand out so much, but those sneakers are special-order, Alexis can recognize the brand, even from this distance.
The third woman looks back at Alexis...and meets her eyes, before turning back to talk to the goggled woman.
Alexis stumbles a little as she comes out in the Shard, caught off-guard for listening to Loretta's reply. She looks up at her surroundings, face caught in a moment of surprise, before she rights herself and regains her business face. Alexis exchanges locked eyes with the woman in the fedora, but doesn't approach the party yet, allowing a moment for the rest of the party to catch up. Unconsciously, she runs a hand over her hair, before she remembers that she doesn't have any right now.
Alexis turns around to face Aurora, her brow raised for a moment, but her expression otherwise as stern as ever. "Alexis Marinos. Associate Attorney, on retainer for the Meta Club." She steps to one side as Casey makes her greetings, her arms crossed defensively as her serpent hair sways slowly behind her.
Aurora, for her part, curtsies a little, a bright smile on her face. "Hate dressing up like that. I can never move around in those kinda outfits. For someone like me...it's a pain in the bum. Anyway, come on. I'll introduce you to the rest of the gang."
She walks on over, letting the party follow, until she comes closer. "Okay...the girl in Aviators is Jenny Everywhere. And, the Seraph is..."
She pauses for a bit, stopping in her stride, as she closes her eyes. This...is clealry something she does NOT want to say. "XalforiousBlooddrinkerTheLivingUndead."
Xalforious walks up to the group, waving at them with a hand currently occupied by an (unloaded, hopefully) assault rifle. "Yo! Wassup? I'm Xalforious, as the nice lady said. Supreme Mercenary. My contract with Psyche requires me to actually get a MISSION sometime, so they gave me this milk run. Shouldn't have to do anything...but you got a guy who survived two World Wars on your side. And the Crusades. Well, a bunch of them. THOSE I lost count of. Not to mention, there was at least one where I kinda...got left behind until the NEXT Crusade, which was pretty embarassing..."
