Background:
One of the bigger advancements in the last century was the growing awareness and accepting of individuals from a different race among human societies, mostly carried forward by the Community and Government. However, not all places grew at the same place, and while certain places accustomed faster to their new citizens, others were less welcoming the unknown and different, others outright fighting them.
Robin hails from one of the more regressive spots of the US, born from two Jurougumo. Her first years were rather rough, growing up in a rather hostile environment for her first years.
She was taught to hide her true nature among humans as to not attract any negative attention as they were downright vary of other species when they first caught wind of them, blaming them for various unexplained phenomena for either right or wrong. Paranoia was strong among humans of the region, and so, their family saw themselves forced to move from town to town, scratching together all the money they had to afford it every time.
However, this was not going to work out in the long run, as tension began to rise between both unsatisfied parties and it eventually began to escalate.
Young Robin found herself witnessing a small scale civil war, one that would soon take it's toll, among them his father in the heat of events, to ensure the survival of the small family.
It was when it appeared clear to Robin that all the species could never live together in the most dire situation, that the government began to interfere, the forces of the Psyche and Avalon ending the battle and rescuing many of the individuals in peril, Robin and her mother being one of them.
They were put under custody of the Community, relocated to a more peacefull place in which they would no longer need to run away, under watch of one of their workers, who eventually fell in love with her mother, and provided a new father for her.
While Robin's young mind could be healed over the years, her mother would forever stay scared, becoming overly protective of her daughter and building up a safe environment for her daughter.
From there on, Robin grew up isolated, staying home or in it's near proximity, received home schooling and played her days away in the virtual world, a hobby originally initiated by her stepfather to make sure she wouldn't grow bored... and she was sucked right in, making it one of her most prominent way to interact with other people for many years.
It was not the only thing that she picked up from her stepfather, who fullfilled his role well.
He build her up, opened her mind to a more positive view on humans and other species and prepared her with a right set of morales to face the world outside once she was old enough to take her life in her own hands.
And so, she grew into a young woman, acquired an acknowledged high school diploma and was shown that the world among humans does not have to be a bad place at all. Her stepfather made sure to show her the efforts of all the involved factions to clear and pave the way for a peacefull future where people can get along despite their now even more extreme diversity, and... that while they have made enough progress for people like Robin to roam the streets safely, they are still far away from being done.
With a heavy heart, filled with worry, her mother watched Robin head out to the wide world she has been closed away from at first, attending to a community college away from the safe walls of her home, eager to make new acquintances and carry on the flame her stepfather has ignited within her to work on towards a jointed life alltogether!
Nevertheless, it will a hard task for a geeky videogame nerd and a lot of learning will have to be done...
