"Rock of Ages?" Millie asks. She knew the name, but didn't fully understand the gravity of the reverence. She shakes her head. "Arrows! Dead tree! I mean... it's... he's a shooter! A bow shooter! There is this tree he's using, with no leaves... this way!" Millie almost falls over herself as she takes off towars where she remembers the old dead tree and the hidden cache.

Nikki was following the group, when she noticed Millie messing with something. She walked over, nodded, and said, "Looks like someone stashed a weapon. We might want to be on-guard; I would imagine whoever we're dealing with is paranoid." Nikki, of course, was expecting someone more generically paranoid, and a lot less killy than the Rock of Ages.

(OOC: Sorry for this, polaris. Following Tzauri's lead and assuming that the storage tree's been opened somehow, almost certainly by your character.)
Following Millie and Nikki, Delphi came across the hollowed out tree that had been used for storing a bow and a number of arrows. Displeased by the neglect of the archery equipment created by their hiding place, she glares at the hollowed out tree. Realising that she could probably work out how far the bow can shoot by drawing it, Delphi's hands itch to pick up the previously hidden bow. However, she restrains herself, knowing that anything in the hollowed out tree could contain evidence needed by the police. People don't just hide bows in the middle of parks for no reason, after all.
Instead, to distract herself, Delphi decides to look around for places where the archer could, theoretically, aim for. She looks for trees that could be considered good targets, in the shallow hopes that the archer was using the bow for more... benign uses than it's hiding spot suggests, as well as places you could aim for people on the pathway, in case the bow's hiding spot is telling the truth about the fact that they stumbled upon an attempt to murder people.

(Perception 3: for spotting potential Archery Targets. If possible, would like to use Specialty Aspect (Agility): Archery, though I don't think this one would be considered applicable due to the stat. If possible, would like to know if Expert Advantage: Bow Specialist could give any +1's to this check. Also, I suspect it doesn't, but does Expert Advantage: Long Shot have any effects here? Oh, and I would like to be informed of the Fate Point Expenditures on this, please). ···

(Delphi, good job on things! No fate points for using advantages...sadly, as advantages are LIMITED...neither Bow Specialist or Long range qualify. And, unfortunately, you can't spend a Fate Point to get a bonus from Advantages. Advantages, are peremenant, so they always grant their bonus. Aspects, meanwhile, require a fate point as long as they don't have a (P) next to them. So, you have One Point spent...HOWEVER...You can either have a +2 to your roll, which at present is 3 - 2=1. OR, you can reroll! If you want to spend additional FP for a bonus, you can. In this case? You can spend "To become a ranger", and "Archery Equipment", as well...for a total of 3 FP spent, for +6, or a reroll and +4. It's up to you...ANd, if you want, for a PENALTY, I'll let you get another fate point, from "Knows nothing about Flora and faunta. (And your 1 FP will be unspent) Your choice...blow some Fate Points on this, or take a fail...)
Millie is easily able to take people to the tree, and...yup. Weapons, binoculars....everything Millie saw in her vision. This is a sniper's perch. A very low tech one...and then Nikki sees it. Silver Nitrate powder, to be brushed on the arrows, cloves of powdered garlic in storage...and a copy of the Rock of Ages Bible Verses, with one verse circled. "Though shalt not suffer a witch to live."
Rena, meanwhile, sees it...and immediately freezes, scared to the point where she has grown even paler. Her lips are pure white, and her forehead is sweaty. She looks like she's about to throw up, and can barely stand.

Niko drives herself over to the park, deciding to make sure her friend Rena is safe and sound, along with seeing if the other volunteers were all right.
She pulls up and gets out of her car and goes in to find them. With them all gathered around something, it must have been pretty bad, right?
"Hey guys, it's just me. Don't be too surprised." she says as she walks over and then sees this hunter's stash. "Whoa... the hell's all this doin' here?"

"Shit..." Nikki mutters. She knew exactly what it was. Silver and garlic were pretty damn stereotypical.
The dryad sighed "So I'd hoped it would have just been some creepy ass stalker. Looks like we're dealing with the Rock of fucking Ages. Terrific."
Nikki looked at Millie, "Don't touch them; they're evidence."
"So anyways, we have two options. We could call the police, have them collect this as evidence of a planned homicide, and let the authorities take care of this. The dumbass alternative is to try to talk to him, and clean his clock when he tries to attack us. I recommend the first." The dryad slid her cellphone out of the pocket.

"Yeah... Van Helsings aren't exactly known for comin' quietly." Niko tells Nikki as she approaches, hands in her pockets and sniffing. "You know what's hilarious? You don't even need silver to take out a werewolf. Garlic's not effective on real vampires either. This guy's either an amateur, or he's insane."
"Yo, Rena. Everything's gonna be all right. If this guy comes for us, he won't stand a chance against me."

(Okay, Darius...Note that taking the penalty means you get a +2 and a -2, so the cancel out. It's really a 3+Reroll+2. But, luckily, your reroll knocked you up from a -2, to a +0, which means you make the DC...Which means...)
And then Delphi sees it. Another tree, far away...the sight line, the arrow...were it metal, there would likely be the glint of light off it, but in this case it's just wood. Her body moves on reflex, causing her to shout out a warning...and Rena turns to look, hitting the ground as the arrow slams into the tree behind them. Had Delphi not seen it...it would have gone through Rena's heart.
And, in the distance, they can see a figure dressed in a cloak...and what looks like an angel, with pure white, feathered wings, appear, embracing the man...and then smoke, and nothing. The culprit is gone. People in the darkened park nearby...look in shock.
(Good job on the Perception check...Didn't expect someone would do that kinda looking, but you have now ranked a .25 on the Henderson scale of plot derailment. Take 1 EXP. )

(OOC: Delphi was looking for places that the archer could shoot AT. I wasn't expecting a shot at US, though I really should have. Part of the reason I didn't was because I was trying to avoid having Delphi do anything out of character, including using out of character knowledge.)
"Archer on the Range!" Delphi called out, seeing the arrow. She didn't even think about where she was, or what she was saying, the words just leapt from her mouth. And then the arrow flew, and Delphi collapsed in place. Thankfully, it came nowhere near her, and was instead aimed at Rena, whom the arrow also missed. And then the archer disappeared.
Trembling for a moment, Delphi remembered where she was. She remembered that she wasn't on a shooting range, that she's in a park with a suspected killer. She pulls out her bow and knocks an arrow. If this is going to happen, she wants to do it armed. "Someone call the police NOW. I'll find the arrow so it can be presented as evidence."

"What?" Millie blinks a few times, shaking her head. "Why are we screaming?" She looks to Delphi, then back to Rena. "Um, you have a phone. Call--can you call them?"

"It's so we're legally not the aggressors. He technically hasn't do-"
And at that point, an arrow came by.
"Never mind." she grumbled, after seeing an arrow nearly hit Rena. And then there was that angel thing... well, that couldn't be psychic powers. Unless they were being manipulated by some charlatan 'holy man' who was really just a fancy psychic or something. The issue was, of course, they were under attack, "Well, at least we know who it is."
Nikki nodded, and took out her phone to call the police, taking her spear as she called '911'. Once they asked her emergency, she'd tell them they were at the park, before continuing with, "... we've got an attack by an individual believed to be a Van Helsing. We've found evidence to his activities. Any non-human or psychic members of the department are advised to be on extreme guard. The Van Helsing may be in possession of some technology that allows for rapid hit and run attacks, if not outright teleporation."
[For reference, Nikki draws her spear.]

Niko is quite thankful that Delphi was able to warn about the oncoming projectile, and that Rena was able to avoid it! She draws one of her own handguns. "Fucking Van Helsings..." she says to herself.
"Making an attack in a public place like that... what a nutcase." She goes to help Rena up. "You all right?"

(Darius, generally it's not recommended to spend a Fate Point for a bonus AND take a Fate Point from a disadvantage....as they cancel out. You don't have to always use aspects. Think of them as kinda like 'Encounter' powers, or MSFHigh's 'once a day' abilities. You choose when to use 'em. And can even use 'em to reroll!)
Delphi, after a bit of time, is able to find the arrow. It hit a nearby tree, and shattered in half. Looking at the remains, she can tell something interesting...it's not made of aluminum, like most arrows. It's made of solid wood, which explains the shattering. Some sort of grey dust is all over the tree where it hit. No sign of the arrowhead...
Nikki, for her part, is able to get in contact with the police, who ensure that there will be someone sent soon. It's gonna take a bit, though...
As for Niko? The second she gets close, Rena hugs her close...and doesn't let go, shivering as she does so. She starts to bite her lip, her fangs drawing her own blood, which she starts to lick up, scared.

Looking at Rena... oh hell, were was there anyone else? She felt bad for the Vampyr, but there were other people too. At the same time, she looks at the others, "Hey, did anyone see any other non-humans?" she asked, with a serious yet sympathetic tone, "The guy's already tried to kill. Any potential target not under our protection should be escorted out of the park before that bastard can get to them."
Nikki rolls Perception 2 to see if she noticed other psychics or non-humans in the park earlier. ekn7t43M ···
